Important Info Irish Cup 2021

We are looking forward to a fantastic championships in UL Arena this weekend. Thank you to all the clubs across Ireland who are supporting this event with competitors & umpires. In order to help make this event run as efficiently as possible below are some important points to take note of. Club Instructors please share this info with your competitors & parents/guardians.

Where possible we ask that one spectator attend per competitor

As per Govt. guidelines, the organisers must be satisfied that adult spectators are vaccinated, (covid pass checks will take place), or have proof of recovery from Covid 19

Spectators must wear masks in the arena

Spectators will be fully seated

Patterns, Special technique & Power breaking will operate in pods of 1

Within sparring categories - groups will be divided into pods of 6

All black belts and all colour belts aged 14 and over compete on Saturday Nov 6th

All colour belts aged 13 and under will compete on Sunday Nov 7th

The Sunday will be divided into 2 times slots with 10 & Under in the morning & 11 to 13s in the afternoon

10 & under competitors please arrive before 9.30am Sunday for 10am start

11 to 13 year old competitors please arrive for 1pm on Sunday for a 1.30pm start

Weigh in: Friday (TBC Please check ITA Facebook for Updates) Saturday 8:30am – 10:30am, Sunday 8:30am - 9:30am & at 1pm for 11-13 blue/red belts

Height Check: Sunday During Pattern competition

Umpire Meeting: 9:30am on both days.

All competing black belts & all registered coaches are asked to also bring their umpire attire to help with officiating when they are not competing/coaching. Umpires please wear official umpire attire (dark trousers, white shirt, navy tie).

Safety Equipment: Equipment must be of an ITF approved type.

All competitors must wear:

Head Guard

Gloves (open palm, enclosed fingers)

Foot pads

Shin Guards

Gum Shield (Clear)

Groin Guard (compulsory for all male competitors)

All Foot Pads, Gloves and Head Guards must be Red or Blue, no other colours will be allowed
