50 ITA members complete national umpire course

The ITA national umpire course was held in Tyrellstown, Dublin on February 23rd. The course which ran free of charge for participants was run in conjunction with National Team Training to allow umpires gain some practical experience with high level international competitors.. The course was run by ITA umpire chairperson Mr Carl Smullen and covered patterns and sparring umpiring as well as an introduction to the Sportdata electronic scoring which is used in all ITA tournaments.

The course was well attended with almost 50 participants from ITA clubs from around Ireland. We look forward to seeing all the umpires in action at the ITA Dublin Open on March 21st & 22nd
