Dylan Fitzgibbon Retains World Title
Dylan Fitzgibbon of Turners Cross Taekwon-Do Academy retained his World Title in - 63kg junior sparring at the recent World Championships held in New Zealand. This accolade followed his impressive World title in Argentina 2009 , his European title in Wroclaw, Poland in 2008 and numerous national titles. With all these titles and his ability to dedicate himself to Taekwon-Do he continues to improve as he goes forward.
To win a World title once is a huge achievement in itself but to retain it is a feat attainable by only the greatest athletes in the world. Constant attention to detail and a great mind under pressure is just part of his recipe for success. His ability to listen to his instructor and coaches puts the icing on the cake as he pursues his opponents in the ring .
Championship material indeed, Dylan continues his winning streak on the domestic market with numerous national titles on his credit. He is certainly not afraid to train hard and outside of Taekwon-Do compliments his training with running and kickboxing. Champions are made of hard work, dedication and experience and these are attributes that Mr. Fitzgibbon holds dearly. When he travels to these national and international events and wins as he naturally does, he always remembers his roots . While he does like to celebrate occasionally he quickly comes back to earth and prepares for the next challenge that will be put before him.
As Dylan’s instructor and friend I am proud and privileged to have such a talent and ambassador for Turners Cross Taekwon-Do Academy in Mr. Fitzgibbon and we are very proud of his achievements. Turners Cross Taekwon-Do Academy, its members and instructor wish Mr. Fitzgibbon every success going forward and look forward to progressing with him in the future.
