Mr. Jamie Rigney V Dan

Mr. Jamie Rigney, V Dan, commenced his Taekwon-Do training in London, England in 1989. He then moved to Ireland in 1992, where he joined Ennis TKD School, then under the instruction of Mr. Tim Forde. The Ennis club was later taken on by Mr. Kevin Kinsella, V Dan, under whom Mr. Rigney trained for many years and continues to train regularly with to this day.

 Mr. Rigney has completed several IICs under the ITF Technical Committee and IICs under General Choi Hong Hi, GM Choi Jung Hwa and GM Ki Ha Rhee.

 As a competitor Mr. Rigney has held national titles in Pattern, Sparring and Power Breaking. At international level he was a member of the 2001 and 2002 Irish Teams at the European Championships in Spain and the Czech Republic. Mr. Rigney was a member of the Irish Team which won Gold in Team Pattern at the 2009 European Championships in Spain and a member of the Irish Team which won 2 Bronze medals, one for team sparring and one for team pattern at the 2009 World Championships in Argentina. Mr. Rigney has also medalled at ITF Euro and World Cups.

 Mr. Rigney is the instructor of Ballyea Taekwon-Do club, taking over the club from Mr. Brian Coughlan in 2008. He is a certified International Instructor, and International B Class umpire. He is also 1st Aid certified through the Red Cross, and a certified NCDP level 1 coach through IMAC and the Irish Sports Council. Ballyea TKD club is also a recognized member of IMAC.
